Japan’s mix of tradition and technology inspired Bruno Basso and Christopher Brooke for spring. The designers sent out silk jersey dresses in their signature attention-grabbing prints — this time, a riot of rabbits, birds, waves and flowers, which the duo said was inspired by Kyoto’s flora and fauna. They also added Japanese touches to their silhouettes: Tailored silk shift dresses were cinched with obi-style belts. Meanwhile, Stephen Jones’ giant hairpins adorned the models’ futuristic pompadours.
