To celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary this summer, Luisa Beccaria threw a bash at her Sicilian estate, and many of her jet-setting friends came clad in Beccaria tiers, ruffles and pretty florals. It was just the kind of event at which this designer’s clothes shine. And her spring crop of lovelies fit right in with Milan’s current fascination for gardens, a theme Beccaria has always embraced. She fashioned gentle prints of powdery roses and pastel floral bouquets into delicate cotton frocks, tissue-thin silk peasant blouses and pouf skirts. When she switched to solids, Beccaria festooned her dresses and swooshing evening numbers with ruffles and multiple tiers. All ready to party.
